GH4090 High-Temperature Ni-Cr-Co Alloy for Demanding Aerospace Applications
GH4090 is a nickel-chromium-cobalt (Ni-Cr-Co) based precipitation-hardened alloy designed for high-performance use in extreme thermal environments. With a service temperature of up to 920°C, GH4090 offers outstanding tensile strength, creep resistance, and fatigue resistance, making it an ideal material for aerospace turbine engine components and other high-temperature structural parts.
This alloy performs exceptionally well in oxidizing and corrosive environments at 815°C to 870°C, offering long-term reliability under cyclic thermal stress. GH4090 also exhibits excellent hot workability and weldability, enabling flexible processing into a variety of product forms, including hot-rolled bars, cold-drawn bars, strips, cold-rolled sheets, and wires.
Typical applications of GH4090 include turbine disks, blades, combustion chamber clamps, high-temperature fasteners, sealing rings, springs, and stop pins in aero engines. International equivalents of GH4090 are widely used in turbine blade and disk manufacturing due to their proven durability and oxidation resistance.
While GH4090 performs well below 1040°C, prolonged exposure above this temperature may lead to intergranular oxidation. Therefore, it is best suited for aerospace and energy applications requiring high thermal stability and oxidation resistance below this limit.
